The ‘Wee’ Trail House
We renovated the Wee House in February 2018. This provides a 2 bedroom, 4 person self-contained house alongside the main Trail House. The Wee House is a perfect space for smaller groups, couples or small families or as an addition to the Trail House for larger groups of up to 14.
Included in all rentals:
Bed linen, hand & bath towels + bath mats, toilet rolls, hand soap, cleaning products, dishwasher and washing machine tablets.
Free Wifi & happy to welcome dogs*
(*Provided owners clean up any extra doggie mess e.g. hair & mud and don't let them on the soft furnishings.)
PLEASE NOTE:
The houses are in a quiet residential area, they are not suitable for those looking for a house to throw a party which includes late night noise.
Kitchen
The Wee House has a fully equipped modern kitchen, recently renovated, with large Fridge Freezer, Oven & Hob, dishwasher & washing machine.
Living Space
We have an open plan kitchen, living and dining room set up in the Wee House. The oak coffee table easily converts into a dining table.
Bathroom
Family Bathroom with shower above bath.
Bedroom 1
Bedroom 1*: has zip and link beds which can be set up as either super king or twin beds.
Bed linen & towels are provided.
*Please note, as the houses are semi-detached from each other, bedroom 1 shares an internal wall with the Trail House so there can be some ambient noise.
BEDroom 2
Bedroom 2: has zip and link beds which can be set up as either super king or twin beds.
Bed linen & towels are provided.
Bike/Equipment Storage
We have a secure garage with free standing bike stands.
Bike Wash: There is a hose at the front of the house. Glentress also have a power hose which you can use for a small fee.
Drying room: On entry, next to the kitchen we have a storage & drying vestibule.

Garden
We have an enclosed ‘courtyard’ at the front of the house. During Spring, Summer and Autumn months there are picnic tables and a BBQ. Please note that this is a shared space between the Trail House & Wee House, each have their own patio and tables but it is a social space for both and you may be sharing it with the guests from the other house. If this doesn’t sound like something you’d be comfortable with it may not suit your group.
Parking
As you arrive at the house there is parking alongside the side of our building as well as a parking space in front of the gates which access the courtyard. There is space for up to 5/6 cars at the house (depending on size), if the Trail House is also booked then there would be spaces 1-2 available to the Wee House (Space 1 if only one is required). We do our best to manage the spaces and allocate them between the two houses for each booking and can recommend additional parking options if required. See floor plans and parking map here.

Catering/Meal Deliveries
If you’d like to take the hassle out of arranging meals for your group Cooks & Co can provide meal deliveries to guests staying at the Trail House. Please enquire with us if this additional service is of interest to you.
Wee House Availability
Prices are based on a 3+ night stay. Special rates for 2 night stay and longer bookings available upon enquiry (4 night minimum stay across July/August).

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Wee Trail House. It’s is a very clean, well equipped house which was just right for us and our two daughters. It’s perfectly located to enjoy the outdoors and is in a quiet spot with nice views. We loved exploring the river down near Neidpath Castle and also used it as a base to travel into Edinburgh which is about 40 minutes drive away. The Edinburgh Tattoo was a real highlight of our trip!”
